Cramer's Park Beach
Cramer's Park is an awesome beach at the eastern end of St. Croix. It's a large beach with nice sand in the middle and rocky areas on the ends that are fun to explore both by foot and in the water where you'll see lots of fish and coral structures. There are a number of shady areas along the beach where you can setup chairs for the day. Cramer's park is just off of East End Road heading from Christainsted and has a large parking lot with plenty of space for the large number of people who choose to enjoy a day here. One of the unique features of the beach is the number of really (really) nice pavilions that are there for the public use. I really like that the pavilions are all different shades of vibrant colors from red to purple to orange. You'll often find people having huge barbeques and parties here!
Another cool feature of Cramer's Park is that across the road from the parking lot, just past the huge satellite (aptly named the "Very Long Baseline Array Telescope") you'll find the trailhead for the Goat Mountain trail. This trail will take you up to the top of Goat Mountain, which is the larger mountain you see behind the beach. Climbing to the top of this mountain gives incredible views of the east end of St. Croix including Point Udall and the beaches within the East End Preserve like Isaac Bay and East End Bay. If you continue down the trail past the moutain you can get down to the eastern most beach of the preserve, Jack's Bay Beach. If you decide to explore the hiking trails make sure to bring a lot of water!
