Skinny Beach

East End, St. Thomas

Skinny beach is tucked away on the east end of St. Thomas in Great Bay. Unless you are a guest or resident of the private Water Point community you won't be able to get to Skinny Beach... unless you know the secret. You can park at the limited nearby public beach parking at the Ritz Carlton hotel or even better at the abundant parking at Vessup beach. Then it's a short 5 minutes walk or kayak around the point across Great Bay and Turtle Cove beaches to Skinny beach where you'll find no crowds, soft white sand, and a beautiful reef flat to explore.

Skinny Beach is part of a private community so you'll have to be wary of trespassing, but you are allowed to hang out on the beach and in the waters. There's a lot of shade trees among the beach to setup your blankets under and there are a few beach lounge chairs sitting around. Another awesome feature of Skinny beach is that you can walk out on the long dock and look down at the reef flat that covers the southern part of the beach. Beaware - because of the dock the birds love to hang out in the area and are always looking for somewhere to drop a load.
