Little Magens Beach

Northside, St. Thomas

Deep within Magens Bay there sits a small white sand beach and hidden away from the crowds of it's popular sister beach - it's Little Magens Beach. Sitting right next to the world famous Magens Bay Beach, Little Magens is a great getaway from the crowds. In the newfound solitude you can sit on the beach you can look out across the wide bay towards Lerkenlund Beach, look to the north at Outer Brass Island, or look at all of the people enjoying Magens Bay. Boats will often anchor near Little Magens, which are always fun to look at and swim around. Just behind the beach are huge houses with their own private walkways down to the beach.

Getting to Little Magens requires a bit of a swim along the shoreline from Magens Bay or a kayak if you want to rent one. The water is shallow along the shoreline with some sea grasses where I've seen whole families or turtles, spotted eagle rays, and countless fish.

For those of you who are looking to do a little nude sunbathing it is said that Little Magens is a place where you can do that. Personally I think it's a bit to close for comfort to the most popular beach on the island for that sort of thing, but to each their own. If you were looking for somewhere else to be nude on the beach I'd first recommend Platform beach since it's more secluded, but is also right there in the area. If you really want some privacy though head to one of the many West End beaches like Stumpy or Santa Maria. I almost guarantee you'll have the beach all to yourself (or selves 😉) there.
