Hendrik Bay Beach

Northside, St. Thomas

Located on the Northside of St. Thomas, Hendrik Bay Beach is a hidden gem that not many people get to see or even know about. Getting to the beach requires either around a mile hike or four wheel drive as the road down to it is rocky, steep, and can be muddy after rain. The difficulty getting to the beach is worth it though and is even part of the adventure. The beach is lined with tall palm tress, which due to the beaches remote location are often laden with coconuts ready for harvesting.

Hendrik Bay is directly east of Santa Maria Bay, which if you're a good swimmer you can get to by swimming around the point on the left side of the beach. There are lots of good corals and fish to see in these two bays. Just make sure to go on a day where there isn't too much swell or it will be difficult to get back to Hendrik against the waves.
