Turtle Bay Beach

North Shore, St. John

Turtle Bay beach is tucked away on the north shore of St. John on the very end of the 150 acre Caneel Bay peninsula. When I lived in the Virgin Islands the beach was inaccessible by land as it was part of a private resort so the only way to access it was via boat. I passed the beach once on a ferry heading to Jost Van Dyke and got to take a couple pictures from afar. I can only imagine the beach is simlar in style to the nearby Caneel Bay and Hawksnest (among others). That is to say the sand looks luxurious and soft. The water looks crystal blue. And not even to mention that it's named Turtle Bay so there must be plenty of turtles to see there as well!

Now some incredible news. On April 22, 2024 the land making up the Caneel Bay peninsula was transfered over from the company that held it to the National Park Service making it now part of the Virgin Islands National Park. Once the area is cleaned we'll all hopefully have access to the beach via land!
