Caneel Bay Beach

North Shore, St. John

Once the location of a popping beach resort Caneel Bay is now a quieter, but still just as lovely beach on the North Shore of St. John within the Virgin Islands National Park. The resort was heavily damaged in the 2017 huriccanes and hasn't fully recovered, which makes the only way to get to the beach for the public to be via a boat / kayak or climbing along the rocks from Honeymoon Beach. There is also a shuttle to the beach if you're staying at the resort.

Protected from the swell from the east in a cove the beach gets calm waters that are great for snorkeling in. You can snorkel around the north side of the beach near the rocks to find lots of cool structures and in the middle of the cove area you can find lots of sea life in the deeper waters.
