Little Hawksnest Beach

North Shore, St. John

Little Hawksnest Beach is a small pocket beach a short swim off the left side of Hawksnest Beach. This beach is a lot quieter than Hawksnest even with the close proximity to it, which can offer a nice getaway on a crowded day. Getting to this beach only requires a short swim around the rocks. Along the way you'll swim over a shallow reef where you can see all sorts of sea life like parrot fish, jelly fish, and star fish along with some corals. There is also a narrow path on the far end of Hawksnest that winds along the shoreline that you can take as a non-water way to get to Little Hawksnest.

Towards the left from Little Hawksnest you can see another similarly named Hawksnest Beach at Caneel Bay (let's just call it Cannel Hawksnest to avoid confusion). From Hawksnest beach it looks like a far swim, but once you're at this beach it seems close enough to make the swim doable. And if you're confident in your swimming then you should definitely go for it!
