Cowpet Bay Beach

East End, St. Thomas

Beatiful sunrises, turquoise blue water, and plenty to drink at the bars. These are some of the things that make Cowpet Bay Beach a great spot to stop for the day. Located on the very east end of St. Thomas this beach is sheltered between water point to the north and deck point to the south. Along with the two points the bay is also semi-sheltered by Great Saint James island to the east making the waters usually very calm and enjoyable for a relaxing swim. In the center of the swimming area the ground is sandy and gets rocky towards either side, where you can find some good snorkeling along the rocks. Across the rocks to the south of the beach you'll find the St. Thomas Yacht Club and Yacht Club Beach.

The beach itself is within the Elysian Beach Resort, but you can still visit the beach and use the resort parking lot if you're not staying there. The easiest way to get to the beach is to drive, but other options are to walk from Vessup Beach (which has lots of parking), kayaking from Great Bay, or taking a taxi. The beach is lined with beautiful, tall palm trees providing plenty of shade all day long. Also at the beach are several bars and restaurants within the resort offering incredible drinks and food. Cowpet Bay beach is definitely a favorite!
