Shoys Beach

East End, St. Croix

Ahoy ahoy it's the beach named Shoys! Shoys Beach is located on the East End of St. Croix just a couple miles outside of downtown Christainsted. The beach is a beautiful, crescent shaped strip of sandy shore with a sandy and grassy bottom in the water. The water is generally calm making it a great place to swim and enjoy the day. The beach faces northward and on really clear days you might be able to see St. Thomas and St. John across the sea some 40 miles away. Shoys is a favorite place for locals and visitors alike due to it's close location to town and the nearby Buccanear resort. The beach is generally pretty quiet though and you should be able to find yourself a nice quiet, shady spot to setup for the day.

There aren't any amenities at Shoys Beach so make sure to bring everything you need. There is a public parking lot that is only a short walk from the beach. The walk is probably my favorite part of the beach. It takes you on a path through a dense grove of mangrove trees. The trees surround you on both sides and block out the sun from above. It's an amazing tunnel through the trees that leads you to the magical beach. Shoys is a must visit for anyone who has the chance!
