Sandy Bay Beach

West End, St. Thomas

Sandy Bay is located within The Preserve at Botany Bay on the western end of St. Thomas. The beach has silky, soft white sand with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and the smaller islands just off the coast including West Cay and Dutchcap Cay. Sandy Bay Beach is a larger beach with pletny of options for shade and since not many people travel to it, you'll likely have it all to yourself!

Getting to Sandy Bay requires driving all the way to the west end of St. Thomas and then checking in at the gaurd house at the Preserve at Botany Bay. Since it's a private community you have to get your picture taken before they allow you to enter. Then you can walk down to Sandy Bay or Mermaids chair to go have fun at the beaches. If you're lucky they'll have a shuttle running that will pick you up at Sandy Bay so you don't have to walk all the way back up hill, it's quite a grind! Make sure to check with the guard about the shuttle schedule!
