Pelican Beach

East End, St. Thomas

Pelican Beach is such a hidden gem right next to the very popular Sapphire Beach where you can escape the crowds and relax with the wonderful, undistrubed view of St. John across the Pillsbury Sound. The land behind the beach is all private so in order to get to the beach you need to either take a boar or simply walk over from Sapphire Beach. If you're walking you can park in the Sapphire parking lot and follow the beach towards the west until you get to the old cement wall. You can just climb over the wall and continue walking and you'll be at Pelican Beach!

Pelican Beach doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but it sure does have a lot of tranquility and awesome views. Pelican also has some great snorkeling. If you go along the left side of rocks towards the point you can wind some elkhorn corals and seafans. If you keep swimming around the point you arrive at Lindquist Beach. Swimming to the point along with the long views across the sound make for a very immersive snorkeling experience where you feel like it's just you and the ocean!
