Paradise Point

Southside, St. Thomas

Paradise Point is the premier lookout on all of St. Thomas. Up on the hill top towering above the Chartlotte Amalia harbor Paradise Point gives incredible views of the downtown area, the harbor, Frenchtown, Hassal and Water Islands, and on clearer days you can see the islands of Vieques and mainland Puerto Rico in the distance. My favorite thing about Paradise Point is that it gives you an uninterrupted view to the west, and with being on the southside of the island this means that the sunsets from up here are spectacular. You get to watch the last rays of light being cast onto the beautiful red roofs of the downtown buildings.

One of the cooler things you'll notice about Paradise Point is that there's a gondola going up to the top. This is a popular attraction for people arriving on cruise ships as it's terminal is right next to docks so it might be a bit crowded, but is definitely worth it once. You can also drive or walk up the road to the top, which is a favorite among locals for the workout. There is a bar at the top where you can grab drinks while enjoying the view as well as two restaurants: Prime and Taste.
