Leinster Bay Beach
North Shore, St. John
Leinster Bay is a long, thin beach on the North Shore of St. John. The shape of the bay cuts fairly far into land so it is relatively protected from the surf even though it's on the north shore. There are a number of mooring buoys in the bay that are popular among boaters to spend the day here. The water in the bay is pretty deep towards the middle, which lends to seeing sealife like larger turtles and even sharks towards the bottom. If you're a free diver then this is a great spot to practice that as well. On the eastern end of the bay towards the opening is Waterlemon Cay. This is a really popular place to snorkel around where you'll find all sorts of great coral structures and fish. On the opposite shore you'll also find some corals and might see some out-planted coral put there by coral scientists!
