Hart Bay Beach

West End, St. John
Heart Bay is a small strip of sand at the northern end of a long rocky beach on the West End of St. John. The water is shallow out from the beach making some great snorkeling, especially out near the rocks towards the middle of the beach. Getting to the beach requires some hiking with two different paths you can take. The first and easiest path can be found just off of Bovocap Road where it meets Deaver Road. You'll see the path off down through the brush and taking it will get you all the way down to the southern end of the beach. The second option is also off of Bovocap Road, but the trailhead is before you get to Pond Bay Road. You'll see a sign on the left side of the road indicating a trail, which you can follow through the woods to the northern end of the beach. I'd advise against taking this route if it recently rained as it does go through a mangrove swamp area, which could be flooded and make hiking the trail very difficult... and wet!
